Testimonials From The 2006 Summer Games

The 2006 B.C. Summer Games were held in Kamloops.
The Fraser Valley Boys soccer team won Gold with a perfect 5-0 record.

"The hospitality was great. They feed you well you sleept well. I was never bored, there is always someting you can be doing. Th other soccer teams were good competion and were cool to hang out with after the game. My favourite memory was when we played in the finals and won it."
- Jordan Pettie (Player)

"Just wanted to tell the new parents of the awesome experience our family had at the B.C. Summer games. We went early to catch the opening ceremonies and it was fantastic. The teams parade was very colorful and so was the show. Very well organized but very crowded. Book your rooms early!!!

The games were very exciting because of the smaller field, smaller goals and less players on each side, but highly talented. Playing fields were great, lots of shots, saves and intensity. As a soccer dad...LOVED IT!!!

The weather was perfect and the team bonding was unforgettable.
Coaching staff kept the boys entertained and challenged for the duration. Dalton loved the coaches!!!

Good luck to all who are trying out and remember, it will be a honour to play on this team and represent your district."

[my son] met a lot of players through this process and is still friends to this day or at least able to say hi and chat when they meet at the soccer pitch;

For most boys it is their first trip with just the team and it is a great experience in that way (to be free from parents);

From my perspective it was neat to come up and watch when my son was traveling separately from me and with the team. It felt like he had grown and matured to me;

Trevor [my son] thought the quality of soccer was very good and enjoyed the competitive but friendly experience;

I thought the event was well run and had a very professional feel to it for the kids;

Trevor thought the medals were very cool (especially gold).
